Masked Men, Hygiene, Golf and Faces

Just a few fun pictures of Cody to share. DJ refuses to take pictures so I don't have any of him.

Cody's Godfather bought him a new Golf set. So far, it has mostly been used to beat our dog, Scooter.

Cody LOVES to talk on the phone (not sure where he got that from =P ). EVERYTHING gets used as a phone - including a mini millenium falcon.

Cody loves to have his teeth brushed. He recently began grabbing the step stool on his own and placing it in front of the sink to get ready to brush his teeth. This weekend, he decided to brush his own teeth.

Who is this masked baby????

Cody is such a silly guy. Even with an ear infection he is still a ham. This is the greeting face everyone gets when they walk into a room. As soon as he woke up the other morning, he made this face. He's so funny!

And here is a sweet smile from him.

Final Cake - A Rose Cake for Rose

Today was my last day of cake decorating class and we learned how to do roses. I thought they would be REALLY hard, but they weren't that bad! :) Sure, none of them are the same size, but they still turned out pretty decent for my first try, right?

My mom's birthday is coming up so this is her birthday cake! :) Good thing the class finished right before her birthday!

O O O

Who's that kid with the oreo cookie?

Cody is growing up. He no longer likes baby food and discovered Oreos!

Kite Flying

We were invited to join Josh and his class as they had a "kite day" at school.

Josh's mom bought DJ a kite, but he just wasn't in the mood to participate and while on the way there, he even asked me if there would be benches there so he could sit down while Josh flew his kite. He must be my kid! :)

It was windy ALL week last week...except on kite day. There was absolutely NO wind and those poor kids had a hard time getting their kites off the ground.

Josh did manage to get his kite off a few times, though...

Here is a picture of Josh and DJ together.

After awhile, DJ realized how fun kite flying could be and decided to chase Josh and his kite. That's DJ in the middle. Notice his hands behind him. Apparently, you get better air and speed if you run with your arms behind you. Plus, that's how Lucario (spelling is probably wrong) from Pokemon runs. Duh, mom. :)

Feeding Ducks

The boys have been having so much fun with their weekly playdates with their cousins. Both boys can't get enough of those kids. If DJ had his way, he would be with them EVERY day!

Last week's playdates included ducks, kites and the playground. Here are pictures from the duck feeding.

You won't see pictures of the feeding, though, because between the 4 of them, they managed to go through 6 rolls of bread within about 30 seconds. DJ (who is out of practice when it comes to duck feeding) threw the ENTIRE roll at one duck. LOL

Here is Cody with his super-model serious look:

And now the Cody smile we all love!

Here is DJ with his new haircut and spikey hair.

The fountain near the duck pond. I just like how there is a duck flying by on the left side of the fountain.

We were treated with a mommy duck and her 4 ducklings.

Cake 2 - Clown Cake

In this week's cake decorating class, we made clown cakes! I thought these guys would be hard to make, but they were actually really easy! I impressed myself (again).

The cake features a shell border on top and star bottom border and star accents along the side.

Next week is the final class - roses!

Our Neighbors Are Cows! - For our San Diego Friends

Not so long ago our neighborhood had a new mall, new restaurants, Target, Kohl's, Vons and all the stores and requirements that I needed so that I never had to leave the area. It's no secret - I miss San Diego!

I just wanted to share with my old neighbors and SD friends what is like outside of the "city". This is a picture of our neighbors about 1/4 mile from the house:

This picture is about 10 miles away. Remember in Mission Impossible 3 how they had those wind mill farms (or whatever they are called)? There is a whole patch in Rio Vista that has a lot of them. It is pretty cool looking. Not sure if it is the same one in the movie, but it looks neat. And yes...that's more cows!

We are getting used to life in Northern California, though. The boys are really enjoying themselves and DJ reminds me constantly that he is happy we moved here and asks why we didn't move sooner.

He is now taking a Kajukembo class. It is quite a change from Tang Soo Do, but he is getting the hang of it.

Ever since moving here, Cody is just blossoming developmentally and physically. I swear the boy has gotten taller and I KNOW he has gained at least 5 pounds since moving here. It's getting harder to carry him. He talks A LOT more now, too. Mostly still gibberish, but he is finally saying MOM more frequently. I still don't know why he can't say it normally, though. He has to say it in a deep, Yoda/monster voice. He can tell you a full story (for at least 5 minutes) in his baby language and even uses hand and head motion to animate his story. My favorite is that he throws a laugh in after every few sentences. The boy cracks himself up!

How Sweet It Is...

I have always wanted to take a cake decorating class, but because of the time of the classes in San Diego and Doyle's work hours, I never had the chance to take a class.

Now, that we have moved and have grandparents to help watch the kids, the first thing I did when we arrived here was sign up for a cake decorating class!

Last week was the first class. We watched the teacher show us how to frost a cake properly. Not so fun.

This week, though, we made our own cakes and frosted them at home then brought them to class to decorate them. YEAH! Hands on!!!

We learned how to make stars, wavy lines and practice writing. I'm not very good at the writing so I need to practice.

At the end of class, we used the star method to create a rainbow on our cake. My carpal tunnel was killing me, but I made it through the rainbow! :) (Just don't look too close to the rainbow or you will notice gaps inbetween the pink stars. That's when the carpal tunnel was REALLY bothering me)

Next week, we make clowns.

Settling In

If you have been wondering why you haven't heard from us in awhile, it is because we moved!

We left Sunny San Diego and are now in not-so-sunny-right-now Northern California.

Although the boys have been sick since we got here on the 28th, they are having a BLAST! I think Cody still thinks we are on vacation. He has been partying all night (by partying, I mean playfully yelling at people in the house and playing with his uncle and grandparents) and not waking up until close to 9 every morning since we got here. Usually, he is up by 7!

DJ is having a great time and reminds me almost daily that he doesn't have to cry anymore because he misses visiting grandma and grandpa.

He is just anxiously awaiting for when we can visit Halmoni and Papa Richard along with his cousins and Aunts and Uncles in Washington and Oregon. (We are hoping to be up there sometime before the end of the year! It all depends on when Doyle can get away from work.) We told him we will be closer to everyone in WA and OR so he is expecting to see everyone, but I don't think he realizes that we are still a half a day's drive away.

DJ also started his Kajukembo class yesterday. They focused on balance. He was so proud to get his "balance" sticker that he told his dad "I did so good in my class and it was only my first day!"

I also registered him for kindergarten yesterday. I can't believe our baby boy is going to be in kinder soon! WAH!

Cody starts his classes tomorrow. It's a tumbling/jumping/climbing class. Considering he is a little monkey, I think he will have a blast!

Stay tuned for pictures!
